A large but faint galaxy. The reddish brown somewhat fuzzy nature of this galaxy is because we are seeing it through the dust and interstellar gasses of our Milky Way, If it weren't for that this galaxy would rank as one of the brightest galaxies visible in the northern Autumn and early winter sky.
