M3 a Globular Cluster, - this image cropped from the original photo

Nice and high in the Northern hemisphere's sky in mid and late spring, M3 is one of the great globular clusters. It has at least a half million stars and is about 34,000 light years away - further away than our galactic core, yet in a 10" or larger scope at about 100 power it's an eye full of resolvable points of glistening light.

10" F6.3 Schmidt Cassegrain Telescope, (1600mm F.L.) Modified Canon 300D camera with Baader coma corrector and IR-UV filter, placed at the scope's prime focus
